"Ila Ayn" is the first Lebanese film selected for the Cannes festival despite its failure in Lebanon. Nasser’s story reflected that of Lebanon: conflicted identity, collective amnesia and myths of an unplugged national narrative.
In this space, the visitor meets the famous director and relives past moments while still feeling a sense of belonging, given the avant-garde approach in Nasser’s work. The main structural element reproduces the shift of appreciation of his work by the Lebanese community: they looked down on it at the time of its release, yet highly look up to it nowadays.
